James S. Ownbey
- I grew up in Northwest Arkansas, and currently live in Fayetteville, Arkansas where I run a web hosting and domain name business.
- I’ve been married to Jasmine since 2000 (victims of the Y2K bug?), and we still like each other.
- I have 2 sons, Jay (18) and Sam (15) and a <GASP!> new grandson, Armon.
- I have a BSBA and an MBA from the University of Arkansas, and I came really close to getting a PhD in Marketing from the University of Georgia. The problem is, I don’t really like Marketing (or business in general, for that matter.)
- I’m a practicing Buddhist in the Tibetan tradition, and was refuge ordained as Nengtop Tsundu in the Tibetan Gelugpa tradition by Ven. Geshe Thupten Dorjee and Ven. Rinzin Dorjee of the Drepung Loseling Monastery on November 5, 2006.
- I am one of the original founders of the Unitarian Universalist Buddhist Fellowship of Fayetteville.
- I also own and operate the Northwest Arkansas Buddhist Information web site, and host and maintain the web site for the Tibetan Heritage Institute of Arkansas.
- I eat, drink, and smoke too much (hey, I’m a BuddhIST, not a BuddhA, and I haven’t yet taken the precept vows.)

- In past lives, I’ve been a Methodist, a long-haired hippy freak, an atheist, a printer, a student, an agnostic, a printing department manager, a purchasing manager, a student (again), an IRC junkie, a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, a professor of Marketing, a web designer, and a (part-time) student (again.) I like being a student the best, although long-haired hippy freak runs a close second.
